RUMBLE ENERGY INC. and AVACOS SOLAR ENERGY INC. COMPLETE THE FIRST ROOFTOP SOLAR PROJECT IN SUDBURY, ONTARIO FOR GREATER SUDBURY UTILITIES
Sudbury, Ont., November 12, 2009 – Rumble Energy Inc. and Avacos Solar Energy Inc., today announced the completion of the Greater Sudbury Hydro solar photovoltaic test array.
In a progressive vision Greater Sudbury Utilities along with Avacos Solar Energy and Rumble Energy have competed a first of its kind solar photovoltaic test array in the City of Sudbury, Ontario. The project, a first for Greater Sudbury Utilities a Local Distribution Company (LDC) in Ontario servising the Sudbury regaion consists of a 4.8 kW rooftop mounted solar electric (photovoltaic) array, with plans to expand with a 30 kW dual-axis tracking array in the near future. The arrays will be constructed to aquire valuable solar radiation data from the area which will help individuals, businesses, and corperations see the investment opportunities related to solar photovoltaic technologies in Northern Ontario. The grid connected systems are pilot projects for what is seen as a large possibility for solar photovolaic resources in the Sudbury region. The first phase of the project was comissioned in early October. The solar arrays will opperate under the Ontario Power Authorities (OPA) new advanced feed-in-tariff program (FIT). 
Which will pay C$80.2 cents each kilowatt-hour generated from the 4.8 kW rooftop mounted solar system, and C$44.3 cents each kilowatt-hour generated from the 30 kW ground mounted solar system for a contract term of 20 years. The advanced feed-in-tariff program proposed by the OPA is a first of a kind for North American renewable energy markets, originally adopted by Europe and Asia.
